I’ve heard this lie so many times, I’m beginning to wonder what news agency or doctor to go slap in the face!

There’s probably not a diabetic alive who hasn’t heard the question “can you eat that?” when we bite into a scoop of ice cream or even an orange.

The truth is yes, we can eat sugary foods. It’s just that our bodies don’t deal well with them.

Every cell in our bodies requires some level of glucose (sugar). In truth, you can’t live WITHOUT sugar. It’s your energy source.

And, for the record, eating lots of sugar won’t give you either juvenile (Type 1) or adult-onset (Type 2) diabetes.

There are many contributors, but the levels of sugar you consume is — if at all — minimal in that effort.
